Introduction

Project Veer Gatha, launched under the Gallantry Awards Portal (GAP) in 2021, aims to share the courageous acts and life stories of Gallantry Awardees with students to foster patriotism and civic values. Through this initiative, students have created projects in various formats such as poems, essays, paintings, and multimedia presentations. The journey of Project Veer Gatha from Edition 1 to Edition 4 has been inspiring, expanding the reach of the competition across the length and breadth of the country. In the first two editions of Project Veergaatha 8 lakh students participating in the first edition and 19 lakh students in the second edition. The third edition marked a significant milestone and an increased participation of 1.36 crore students. The momentum continued to grow in Veergatha 4.0, reinforcing the widespread impact of this initiative.

Report

The Veer Gatha 4.0 was conducted from 05 September 2024 to 31 October 2024, involving a diverse range of thought-provoking topics. The project included school-level activities, nationwide interaction programs with Gallantry Awardees (both online and offline), and submission of the best entries via the MyGov portal. 4 and 8 winners were selected at the district and state levels. This program was organized and conduct successfully  by DSERT and DIET. The names of 8 students who won at the national level are Vinesh Acharya Udupi, Srushti S. Vaddar Hubballi, Satwik Bhat Dakshina Kannada, Snigdha Udupi, Sakshi Kulkarni Hubballi, Ramita Murthy Bangalore, Varsha Shetty Bangalore and Afsheen D. Bellary.
